Watched: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny

And Another Wuxia Movie today. Everyone waited for it and now it got released. I know, it is a US Co-production (by Netflix) but I think it belongs here nonetheless. Chow Yun-Fat isn’t present anymore and (even more importantly) Ang Lee wasn’t the Director. This and the fact that it will always stay in it’s prequels Shadow, one of the best Movies ever made, is the reason why it gets mixed reviews. Honestly, watch it and make your own decision. It is certainly not as epic as the first Movie and it is also not as well directed as the first Movie but it is indeed a well made Wuxia Flick which won’t waste your time.

The acting is good, the score is great and the picture is well-shot. The Plot was predictable and not new (unlike the prequel), the epicness is missing and many parts of the movie is CGI which isn’t a bad thing but you could always see that it is CGI.

I recommend that you watch it, regardless of what you think about it’s production and the Prequel.
